The First Berserker: Khazan Review 🔹 The Good 🔸 The Bad 🔻 The Ugly
The Good
🔹 Combat in the game is 2nd to none, if you love action and punishing bosses, this is the game for you.
🔹 Weapons (greatsword, spear, dual blades) with their own unique skill tree encourages you to try different styles.
🔹 Stunning visuals - Anime aesthetics with fluid animations.
🔹 Epic Boss fights, although some of them were personally more frustrating than fun.
🔹 Earning skill points and Lacrima (XP) even on failed boss attempts.
The Bad
🔸 Very predictable story
🔸 Repetitive level design, each level was basically 3-4 checkpoints, a miniboss and then a boss fight.
🔸 Lack of Weapon switching on the go and bulid profile loadout.
🔸 Boss fights are centered around finding a good combo that keeps bosses in the stun lock. If you don't want to give in to that then the boss fights gets extremely challenging.
The Ugly
🔻 Recycled Bosses, some side quests reuse main story bosses with minor tweaks.
Conclusion:
Overall Khazan is a great game for gamers who like punishing bosses and want to enjoy the parry/dodge mechanics in a game.
Game gets repetetive and you can start to feel that the game is stretching itself by introducing very similar bosses.
If you are looking to get into this genre of gaming, I do not recommend you to start here. Where should you start? I'll gladly reply in the comments if you are curious.
