Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - A world you could live in!

It's important to know a little about the reviewer before you read their review.

I gravitate more towards Action/Adventure games than RPG, I didn't go into this game with a lot of expectations.

I played Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for about 70+ hours on my Playstation 5. Did it meet my expectations? Let's find out and I hope this review helps you in making a decision about this game.

Gameplay

Where do I even begin! This game has got everything, it delivers everything you expect from an RPG, you can be a good person or a bad person, you chose to help people or take advantage of them, you can live your life like a warrior or like thief; all your actions have consequences and the game does all of it while providing an alternate ways to accomplish all tasks.

There is one common theme begund its gameplay, everything you do in this game, requires you to hone your skill over time to be good at it, be it archery, lockpicking, sword fight, horse ride etc. through this one ideology, game manages to immerse you in its own world.

There is a ton of side content, you improve your gear by learning Smithing and improving your weapons, you can also buy also said weapon buy buying it from the shops.

overall, this geamply is meant to immerse you in the game and it does it succeessfully. I ran a post on X to check how many hours gamers spent on this game and most of them were 150+ hours!!

Combat and Weapons

In combat department, you really have to hone your skills to be good at it. It really fells like a real life combat. You can't just power through enemies. My best recommendation here is that try not to get the Master Strike, it makes the fight easier, I never did and I had fun playing with all the combos I learned throughout my journey.

You can fight with shiled or no shield, you have longsword, common swrod, mace and many other weapon types. Long rage combat is also an option with bow and arrow or Crossbow. In order to use them well, you will need to conntinously hone your skill.

Close combat is a directional combat, you need to see an opening in your enemy and hit from a certain direction to actually get a hit, it's very well executed in the game.

Character and their Performances

I know the game awards has come out with its nominations for best performances and their is no inclusion of KCD2 actors but that's straight up overlook on their part. The character of Henry and Capon is protrayed by their actors so butifully that I didn't want to skip a single dialouge. They delivered each line with weight and their expressiosn were spot on too.

Not just those 2 but in fact the entire case did an excellent job! Katherine, Ruth and the whole gang did fantastic and it was aided by incredible writing for the Warhorse team.

Graphics & Technical Performance

KCD2 is a huge game and I was very surprised by how well it performed on my PS5. Of course I played the game 8 months after the release so if there were any issues, they were all patched because I can't remember a single issue that I came across.

As for graphics, the game looked incredible throughout. Whether it's the cut scenes or the actual in game graphics, they all looked incredible.

I have no doubt if/when you play the game, you will be mighty impressed with how it looks.

Conclusion

This is the best RPG you will play this year or last 5 years. It delivers on all front and it's a game you will think about when you are not playing it. My preferred genre is action game but this game has paved the way forward for me to believe a little more in RPG games and I'm looking forward to what more Warhorse Studio has for us in the locker.

If you like RPGs this game is a must play. If you get bored in RPGs quick this game will surely change that for you.

Story

Story of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 follows the events of the 1st game, but you can completely enjoy this game without playing the 1st because I did. You do get a glimpse of the 1st game through flashback and stories told and it gives you enough context as to what's going on in the game.

KCD2 revolves around a Noble and a Warrior who are tasked to deliver a message to a neighboring kingdom but it turns into an unwanted adventure of a life time.

I do not talk a lot about story in my reviews to avoid any spoilers and I'll keep this section short but just know this journey will take you through all twist and turns and will find ways to make you laugh every now and then.
