Everything You Need to Know About Gears of War Reloaded Multiplayer Beta

What's going on? This weekend June 13th till 15th the Multiplayer Beta for Gears of War is starting if you preordered the game or you had a code provided by Xbox if you already purchased Gears of War Ultimate edition, digitally or physically before May 5th 2025.

Now I did have some issues with the game yesterday, 13th June but that pushed me to the extreme to channel my inner KAREN and talk with Xbox support to get to the bottom of this. Why was the error in the screenshot below happening? I played on PC.

If you encountered the same issue, don't stress, with the information I got from Xbox Support hopefully we can figure it out fast!

Xbox Support Confirms: If you received a code from them, you must be a GPU member to be eligible to play Gears of War: Reloaded Beta

You can try the following:

1. Uninstalling the Beta then reinstalling it back

2. Sign out from Xbox PC app then sign in again using your account

3. Check your Gamepass subscription, yes even on PC you need to have a Gamepass Ultimate subscription based on what Xbox support relayed to me. Since I didn't have an active subscription, out of curtesy they granted me an exceptional 7 days of Gamepass Ultimate so I can access the Beta

Now here is a good question, since when do you need a subscription service to access a Multiplayer Beta? Especially on PC where you don't need to pay to play online unlike the console counterparts.

Well hopefully this guide helped you troubleshoot this mess! Be aware that there is another Multiplayer weekend that adds more maps and modes on June 20th till June 22nd.

Overall a very weird choice and turn of events, shout out to Xbox Support who came in and solved the issue, now if you excuse me, I will go back to my lair and get more kills in Gears of War Beta!

"Thank you for getting back to us Tim, we are happy to hear that. To answer your question, it is not limited to Gamepass Ultimate but to users who preordered or bought the ultimate edition of GOW and who received a code to access the beta reloaded edition."
